Drunk Woman Smashes Into Boston Market Storefront On Route 1 In Saugus

A Chelsea woman was charged with driving drunk after crashing her car through the front of a restaurant over the weekend, authorities confirm to Daily Voice.

Saugus Police responded to the crash at the Boston Market on Route 1 around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, Boston's Wicked North Shore said on Facebook

According to police, Karina Orellana had to be pulled from her vehicle before she was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, Boston25 reports

Further investigation determined Orellana was driving under the influence, the outlet reports. She was later charged with OUI-liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation, the outlet continued.  

Saugus Police Chief Michael Ricciardelli said the crash is under investigation by Massachusetts State Police.
